If you are into moody/super genuine and heartfelt tunes, you definitely should be listening to This Wild Life. I caught them on the AP World Tour last fall when they came to New Orleans and since then I've been a big fan of how authentic their sound is. I really wanted to catch their set again this year when they came to New Orleans on their Low Tides Tour, but I was already set up to cover another show that night for a different publication. When that concert got cancelled last minute, I was like THIS IS A SIGN. So here we are with coverage of This Wild Life, Have Mercy and Movements (3 legitimately AMAZING bands.) The show took place in the Parish at House of Blues, which is basically their smaller venue upstairs above the main theatre. It was a perfect venue for these bands to deliver a more intimate performance up close and personal with fans. It can sometimes be really hard to photograph bands in the Parish because of the lack of a photo pit, but it makes it even more of a challenge when I get the chance.
This Wild Life just came out with their new album Low Tides, which is also the name of the tour, and it's SO good. They put so much heart in everything they write/record/perform. My favorite off the new record is Falling Down, for sure. Also side note- do NOT sleep on Movements. This band is going to be huge soon. Keep an eye out for them, for real.
Check out the photos and be sure to give these bands a listen! I attached a Spotify playlist below for you to listen while you peruse :)
