I think it's probably already obvious, but I am obsessed with retro things (whodathunk it right?)
I am an avid shopper at antique stores and vintage shops alike, and I have a few favorite places I hit up on a pretty consistent basis. My favorite antique store in town, Honeymoon Bungalow, is unfortunately CLOSING this month and I am distraught. They announced it a while back on their Facebook page, and ever since then I've been half excited about the closing out sales they're having and half depressed about going in there at all. I've been telling everyone I know about them closing and then it dawned on me.... why don't I just do a blog post about it? Maybe I can help spread the word about how cool this place is and help them get some last minute biz before they shut the doors?
So yesterday my mom was in town, and she had never been there before, so we figured hey why not go and see what's crackin? I snapped some pics, bought a necklace and a groovy little plastic lens to use for some trippy photos, and as we were leaving BAM I impulsively bought a table.
This table was like, way too cool to pass up. It's a vintage pink store display table from the 60's, and they were getting rid of it for like $125! I am hoping to live on my own soon, and I'm going to need furniture that's as cool as I think I am (lol) so I was like no way are we passing this up. Also it was 2 days after my birthday, so YOLO.
So basically, Honeymoon Bungalow is the coolest and it's a shame they are having to close. However, they will be open for a few more weeks so if you live in the Baton Rouge area, be sure to stop by! They're having some killer sales while they're still kicking, so hit them up!
Pro Tip: If you're buying a gift, have them wrap it for you! They use vintage wrapping paper that was left behind in a department store from downtown Baton Rouge that closed in the 60's.... so you know it's authentic!
Go stop by. Places like this need our business to STAY in business!
